Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Mike Alessi sat third behind Monster Energy Kawasaki's James Stewart and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto following Red Bud, which made sense being that those two riders have now combined for 27 moto wins out of 28 motos run. However, missing the Budds Creek round has Alessi dropping five spots to eighth in the rankings, while the beneficiaries were Stewart's teammate Timmy Ferry, Honda Red Bull Racing's Andrew Short, Alessi's teammate Ryan Dungey and Geico Powersports Honda's Trey Canard. The two guys who jumped the highest over Budds Creek weekend were Cody Cooper (up seven spots to sixteenth) and Josh Hill (up six spots to thirteenth), and the only new rider to the list is Motosport/Xtreme Kawasaki's Tommy Hahn, who debuts at twenty-fourth.
