Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey was on a mission in Seattle, and although he didn’t succeed in winning the title, he did all that he could do by pulling the Progressive Direct holeshot and leading all 15 laps of the main event en route to victory. Along the way, though it's no surprise, he set the fastest Lites lap time of the main event, a 51.980, which would’ve made him third fastest in the AMA Supercross class.

|
Ryan Dungey was the fastest Lites rider in Seattle. | | | But give credit where credit is due, as the second fastest Lites lap time came from our newly crowned champion, Boost Mobile/Yamaha of Troy’s Jason Lawrence, who logged a 52.631 on lap four on his way to a safe runner-up finish to secure the title.
Following Lawrence across the finish line was Yamaha’s Broc Hepler, who finished third in his return to Monster Energy AMA Supercross racing. Fourth fastest was rookie Austin Stroupe, on his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki, and rounding out the top five lap in lap times was sixth-place finisher Justin Brayton, who is improving every week on his MDK KTM.

Biggest surprise: Though his 20th-place finish doesn’t reflect it, Brawndo/Solitaire/MB1 Honda’s Bobby Kiniry was on the gas in Seattle, and his best lap time wasn’t far off the pace of the top five. Here’s hoping he can keep it on two wheels in Las Vegas this Saturday night.

Justin Brayton had the fifth-fastest time in the Lites class. | | | AMA Supercross
If you saw the race, then you can probably agree on one thing: Kevin Windham was flat out flying! But so was Chad Reed! (Coming from last to second, wow.)
In the process of taking his fourth victory of the season and closing the points gap to 10, Torco Racing Fuels Honda’s Windham also scored the fastest lap time of the night—a 51.398—which came on lap two. He followed that up with his slowest lap time of the main—a 1:06.427—after having to stop and remove a Tuff Block cover from his rear wheel! Second fastest on the night was San Manuel Yamaha’s Chad Reed, whose 51.842 came on lap 14. Next was Honda Red Bull Racing’s Davi Millsaps, his teammate Andrew Short, and Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Tim Ferry. Check out the rest of the field below:

Biggest surprise: Just like his teammate in the Lites class, Nick Wey is showing improvement each week on his MDK KTM450SX-F. Wey had the seventh fastest lap time in Seattle on his way to finishing eighth in the main event.
